Holes

For literacy we have been reading the book Holes by Louis Sachar. We had to make a slide or poster about what we think about the book and the characters and also what we think will happen

why going outside is good

Today for literacy we have been making an explanation for literacy for our Easttle test. I think I need to plan a bit less because we only get 1 hour to do the test.

Why Going Outside Is Good.

Have you ever wondered  why it’s important to go outside? The main reasons are that you can get vitamins that keep your body healthy. so you can go out with  your friends, you can get exercise so you can be strong and walking can keep you fit so you can pick up strong stuff. You can also go outside so you can make friends so you can have fun and do fun stuff.

Secondly, from being outside in the sun your body can attract vitamin d like photosynthesis, it can also stop your body from getting rickets that make your bones soft and stiff that can hurt your body because of the lack of calcium and vitamin d in your body.

After that, you can also  get exercise from walking and do daily stuff like going to places like the beach and the store because walking helps exercise your leg muscles. Running can also exercise your muscles in your body and it also helps your body lose weight.

Furthermore, going outside can help you make friends by just going to the store, the park and the library. Because you’re interacting with people because you might have something in common like going to the gym or the library. Making friends is good because then you have someone to hangout with and go out to places like the movies and arcade.

Finally, in conclusion going outside is good because you can get vitamins in your body to keep healthy. You can go out with friends to the park or the forest. Also you can get exercise to keep your body fit and strong to help people pick up stuff. You should go outside because it connects you to nature and takes a break from devices.

Mystery toy

This term for CRT we have been making a mystery toy for the juniors. The part I most liked was making the toy out of clay and the part that was tricky was trying to make the toy fit in the box because it
would not go in the box. Some of the changes I would make to the toy and box would be to make the box bigger and make the toy bigger as well. If i made an advertisement and it would go like big Joe surprise it is the best toy ever and its only $4.10 and it is crazy fun.

Literature circle reflection

Literature Circle Reflection

My overall impression of the Literature Circles was that they were pretty fun because I got to read new texts like some about war and history.

My favourite task was to be an artful artist because I got to draw what I thought the text looked like in my head.

The challenge I had was trying to focus on the text and not talk to my friends while I was working on my literature circle.

The progress I saw in the conversations over time, people expanding on the question and speaking clearly.

The RISE values I showed the most I showed resilience the most because when my work was hard i kept on trying to finish it .

From the Literature Circle tasks, I learnt how to summarise and to connect parts of a text to real world events and things.

From holding the Literature Circle conversations, I learnt a lot more about the job and story.

Advocates and Environmentalists

Today for inquiry we were learning about Advocates and Environmentalists like Kate Sheppard she fought for women’s right to vote in 1883 my favorite Advocate was Jean Batten because she was an aviator and she was the first women to fly from England to New Zealand by herself. Another cool person was Sir Apirana ngata he dedicated his life to preserving the Maori language.
